Ingredients
- 1 scoop (33g) NoFuss Essentials Whey Protein (Cappuccino Carnival)
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar (or sugar substitute)
- 1/4 cup Cow’s milk (or almond milk)
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil or melted butter
- 1/4 tsp instant coffee powder for a stronger coffee flavor(optional)
Protein Breakup
- 1 scoop (33g) NoFuss Essentials Whey Protein~ 24g Protein
- 1 Egg~ 6g Protein
- 1/4 cup All-purpose flour~ 3g Protein
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder~ 2g Protein
- 1/4 cup Cow milk~ 2g Protein
Recipe
- In a microwave-safe mug, combine the whey protein, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, sugar, and instant coffee powder (if using). Mix well.
- Add the milk, egg, and vegetable oil (or melted butter) to the mug. Mix until all ingredients are well combined and there are no lumps.
- Microwave the mug on high for 1-1.5 minutes, or until the cake rises and is cooked through. Cooking times may vary depending on your microwave.
- Carefully remove the mug from the microwave (it will be hot) and let it cool for a minute or two.
- Enjoy your protein mug cake as is, or top with a sprinkle of cocoa powder, a drizzle of sugar-free syrup, or a dollop of whipped cream.
