High Protein Mug Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 scoop (33g) NoFuss Essentials Whey Protein (Cappuccino Carnival)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar (or sugar substitute)
  • 1/4 cup Cow’s milk (or almond milk)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1/4 tsp instant coffee powder for a stronger coffee flavor(optional)

Protein Breakup

  • 1 scoop (33g) NoFuss Essentials Whey Protein~ 24g Protein
  • 1 Egg~ 6g Protein
  • 1/4 cup All-purpose flour~ 3g Protein
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder~ 2g Protein
  • 1/4 cup Cow milk~ 2g Protein
Recipe
  1. In a microwave-safe mug, combine the whey protein, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, sugar, and instant coffee powder (if using). Mix well.
  2. Add the milk, egg, and vegetable oil (or melted butter) to the mug. Mix until all ingredients are well combined and there are no lumps.
  3. Microwave the mug on high for 1-1.5 minutes, or until the cake rises and is cooked through. Cooking times may vary depending on your microwave.
  4. Carefully remove the mug from the microwave (it will be hot) and let it cool for a minute or two.
  5. Enjoy your protein mug cake as is, or top with a sprinkle of cocoa powder, a drizzle of sugar-free syrup, or a dollop of whipped cream.
